UNDERSTANDING FEAR

TEXT: Luke 12:1-12

INTRODUCTION
  1. This passage is set in the context of hypocrisy
  2. Hypocrisy comes from an acting term - false face used by the Greek actors

Fear is a reality that must be confronted and dealt with

  1. WHAT TO FEAR
    1. The one who has power to kill and to throw in hell. Vs. 4,5
    2. The one who knows the number of hairs on your head. Vs.7
    3. The one who can disown you in Heaven. Vs.9
  2. II. WHAT NOT TO FEAR
    1. Being brought before authorities. Vs.11a
    2. Having to defend yourselves. Vs. 11b
    3. What you will say in your defense. Vs.12

  1. A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF CANNOT STAND
CONCLUSION
  1. We need to understand that God is an awesome God, we not only respect Him but we stand in awe of His great power.
  2. We need to realize that if we don't accept Him, someday he will be a stern judge to condemn us
  3. We need to understand that when we are in Christ many of the things we presently fear will no longer be a bother to us
